One of the challenges of living in a small space – even if you’re just downsizing – is storage. There are a few basic rules of storage: 1) get rid of crap 2) don’t collect new crap 3) make the most of the space you have.
I’m learning to make the most of the space I have (the first two are in process as well). Earlier this week I made some stilts for the bed out of scrap pieces of 4×4. This greatly increased the effective amount to storage space under the bed (so far shoes are the primary beneficiary!).
In a effort to save counter space in the state room, I’m creating this piece of artwork from scrap wood, a couple of frames I picked up at a thrift store and about $7 of hardware. I’m still working on the painting (not my forte but I’m having fun with it), but think I will enjoy the practicality of it.
If you have any small space storage ideas, leave them in the comments.
